TED BURIK

Ted has performed jazz music for over thirty years in New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and now Seattle. He has studied with Herbie Lewis and Rick Petrone, and has collaborated with numerous artists playing standard, modern, and original jazz compositions. An extremely versatile player, he performs on acoustic bass, as well as fretted and fretless electric basses. Ted enjoys using his keen sense of form and style to arrange original and modern jazz music.  Ted brings gorgeous tone, fantastic chops, swing, and rhythmic precision to Black Lab Trio!  Ted also performs with many Seattle jazz ensembles, including Black Lab Trio, Dave Anderson, Jerry Garcia, and is in high demand as a session player.

A little known secret about Ted’s playing:  Not only is he a first call traditional upright bassist, but he’s also a closet Funketeer who can lay down some serious funk on electric bass!
